China's ongoing industrial upgrade is increasingly driven by the convergence of life sciences and advanced manufacturing. As consumer health awareness rises and regulatory standards tighten, the food processing and pharmaceutical sectors are rapidly adopting digitalization and smart technologies to enhance production efficiency, ensure product safety, and accelerate innovation. This structural shift is creating new synergies across the value chain, where precision engineering, automated processing, and biopharmaceutical R&D are reshaping traditional industry boundaries.

In this context, BritCham Shanghai and SwissCham China – Shanghai, co-organised with the Wuxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Wuxi CCPIT), will bring international enterprises to Wuxi on September 3, 2026, for an exclusive fact-finding trip to explore collaborative opportunities within this evolving ecosystem.

Participants will visit AstraZeneca and Bühler Group to witness firsthand how digitalisation is transforming the pharmaceutical and food processing sectors. The program includes a factory tour at Bühler Group showcasing advanced manufacturing processes for food processing equipment, alongside a technical exchange on digital solutions applied in the food industry. These visits will highlight state-of-the-art production, R&D capabilities, and smart manufacturing practices, offering practical insights into cross-sector innovation and value chain integration.

在此背景下，上海英国商会与中国瑞士商会上海分会将携手无锡市贸促会（Wuxi CCPIT），于2026年9月3日组织国际企业赴无锡开展专属考察活动，探索在这一不断演进的产业生态中的合作机遇。

参与者将实地走访英国企业阿斯利康（AstraZeneca）与瑞士企业布勒集团（Bühler Group），直观了解数字化如何推动医药与食品加工行业的变革。活动行程包括参观布勒集团工厂，了解食品加工设备的先进制造工艺，并围绕食品行业的数字化解决方案开展技术交流。这些考察将集中展示前沿的生产与研发能力以及智能制造实践，为跨行业创新与价值链整合提供切实的洞察。

Transportation between Shanghai and Wuxi shall be arranged by the guest. Shuttle bus transportation in town is provided by the development zone.

In case of cancellation, please kindly note you must email the BritCham Shanghai Event staff eloise.zhang@britishchambershanghai.cn before 5 pm, 1 Sep. Due to the service charges of Glueup and online payment platforms, we can only partially refund up to 90% of your ticket price and payment will be processed within 14 days after the event via your original payment method. However, it is non-refundable for a cancellation request made beyond the above-mentioned timeframe.
