Imposter syndrome involves the feeling of self-doubt or inadequacy regardless of social status, work experience, skills, and achievements. It is often associated with high-achieving women and prompted by an individual's personal experiences, personality, and family upbringing. Though, imposter syndrome can affect both men and women.
Workplaces can likewise play a significant role in either escalating or reducing it. Specifically, individuals report that the lack of belonging or inclusivity in the workplace trigger imposter syndrome. Therefore, should we stop fixing the individual and introduce more inclusivity in the workplace to combat the issue?
The WiB Breakfast Conversations explores imposter syndrome with panel speakers. We share their personal experiences and how leaders can foster belonging and inclusivity in the workplace โ thus tackling imposter syndrome in the team.
This event is open for all to join.
