Reception to Welcome Kate Harrison HM Trade Commissioner and for the 9th CIIE

BritCham Shanghai, in collaboration with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), is delighted to announce a reception on Friday 6 November 2026, from 7pm to 9pm in Shanghai, during the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
As companies and delegations gather in Shanghai for CIIE, the reception will bring together businesses and partners participating in the expo to continue conversations beyond the exhibition floor. With a focus on boosting UK exports to China, the evening offers an opportunity to build on connections made at CIIE and nurture them into lasting commercial relationships.
The reception will also welcome Kate Harrisson, the newly appointed His Majesty's Trade Commissioner for China and Hong Kong, on her first visit to Shanghai in her new role. Kate will deliver a short address and join guests for networking.
Bringing together around 150 guests, the evening will connect senior representatives from British and Chinese companies with UK government representatives, visiting business delegations, and Chamber members and partners.
Over drinks and canapรฉs, guests may share insights from CIIE, explore opportunities in the China market and strengthen relationships across the UKโChina business community.
